There are many ways to discover Slovenian Istria, but this might be one of the most memorable. Your day can begin right in front of Grand Koper, where a vintage car picks you up for a drive through the Istrian countryside.

Follow the road past vineyards and olive groves towards the Belvedere viewpoint above Izola. Along the way, stop for a taste of Istrian prosciutto and Lisjak’s Mezzalanna sparkling wine, before continuing to their olive mill.

Here, the story turns to one of Istria’s most important ingredients. Olive oil. Visit the mill, see how the oil is produced and taste your way through eight different olive oils with a guided tasting. You’ll also have the chance to discover Lisjak’s olive cosmetics and products made from olive stones.

If you’d like to make even more of the day, a traditional Istrian lunch can be arranged. Expect a platter to start, followed by bobiči, pasta with truffles and ice cream with olive oil for the perfect finish.

Truffle hunting with a dog can also be added to the experience on request.

And perhaps the nicest part? There’s no need to think about getting there and back. The vintage car can pick you up directly in front of Grand Koper and bring you back to the hotel at the end of the experience.
